Thousands of people will in attendance for the annual display of fireworks today. The yearly festivities is held to commemorate the anniversary of US Independence. Macy's 4th of July pyrotechnic show will feature more than 40,000 shells exploding at a rate of more than 1,500 per minute and fireworks reaching heights of 1,000 feet in the air.
